Brooks Patterson announced Thursday. Bridget Kravchenko will begin her new role on Tuesday, May 29.
“Bridget has impressive qualifications,” Patterson said. “We’re looking forward to utilizing her expertise to boost Oakland County’s information security.”
Kravchenko, who was the CISO at Federal-Mogul Motorparts, is the chairperson of Michigan InfraGard, a public-private partnership with the FBI dedicated to the protection of the United States and its citizens, critical infrastructure and key resources. “I’m inspired to serve in the public sector under the leadership of County Executive Patterson and CIO Phil Bertolini,” Kravchenko said. “Oakland County has a national reputation as a technology leader which is what attracted me to this role.”
Kravchenko led the team responsible for strategic security planning, policy, and procedure at Federal-Mogul Motorparts. Prior to that, she was the CISO at Meridian Health Plan.
“Information security is one of our highest priorities in the county and we have worked hard to protect the assets with which we are entrusted,” Bertolini said. “Bridget is highly respected and brings a wealth of industry experience which will help Oakland County continue to be a leader in this area.”
Kravchenko began her career in 1990 in accounting which led to several years of experience with General Motors in the audit and IT fields. In 2007, she became the director of information security at Meritor and rose to CISO, a position she held until leaving for Meridian Health Plan in 2015.
Kravchenko has a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Michigan and a master’s degree in IT from Walsh College. She coaches a CyberPatriot team at East Hills Middle School in Bloomfield Hills.
CyberPatriot, the Air Force Association’s flagship STEM program dedicated to strengthening cyber skills among students, is the U.S.'s largest and fastest growing youth cyber education program.
