Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette on Tuesday announced that Ronald Robling and his business, R&S Resale LLC, were charged Tuesday with 13 counts of Embezzlement by an Agent or Trustee and one count of Conducting a Criminal Enterprise in Oakland County.
“Today’s arraignment should serve as a warning to those operating criminal enterprises and stealing from Michigan consumers,” said Schuette. “Here at the Department of Attorney General, we don’t take theft lightly. If you are unlawfully conducting business or stealing from hard-working Michigan residents, we will take the appropriate action to ensure you don’t have the chance to do it again.”
Robling was arraigned on May 29 before Oakland County 43rd District Court Judge Joseph Longo. His bond was set at $10,000.
Robling owned and operated a corporation called R & S Resale which is a company that conducts estate sales. Large estate sales were held in the home of clients, and in some cases the home of the deceased. In smaller sales, Robling would remove items from the home and sell the items at his business. As payment for his services, Robling would receive an agreed-upon percentage of each sale as payment for his services.
It is alleged that Robling did not pay many of his clients for their portions of the proceeds. Instead, Robling allegedly used the money to pay his own debts. Robling also allegedly used clients’ money from the most recent sales to pay off clients from his earlier sales. It is alleged that he pocketed more than $60,000 from his clients.
