GLADWIN, Mich. (AP) - A man who authorities say threatened a shooting at a mid-Michigan courthouse has been sentenced to 3 to 5 years in prison.
The Bay City Times reports 19-year-old Anthony Ostrander was given his punishment this week. He earlier pleaded no contest to attempted false report or threat of terrorism. In exchange, a 20-year offense of making a threat of terrorism was dismissed.
The Gladwin County sheriff's office said Ostrander in March phoned in what officials considered credible threats after a personal protection order was issued against him. The Gladwin County Courthouse was locked down for several hours afterward.
Authorities urged Ostrander on social media to visit the sheriff's office to make a complaint about the order. Deputies arrested him before he went inside. He didn't have a gun on him.
