Former Detroit Mayor Dennis Archer (above, right) was honored at a reception August 8 presented by the Michigan State University College of Law, formerly known as Detroit College of Law. Archer, a 1970 graduate of DCL, participated in a Q & A with WWJ Radio’s Charlie Langton (above, left), a 1987 graduate of DCL and now a member of the Board of Trustees at MSU College of Law. The program took place at the Detroit office of Dickinson Wright, the prominent Michigan law firm that Archer headed from 2002-09 and now serves as chairman emeritus.
A past president of the American Bar Association, Archer was mayor of Detroit from 1994 to 2001, previously serving as a justice of the Michigan Supreme Court from 1986-90. A past president of the National League of Cities, Archer (left) is pictured in the photo at right with MSU Law Dean Lawrence Ponoroff (center) and Langton.
