Copyright law and cappuccino

Miller Canfield presented a Cappuccino with Counsel program on the topic of “Trademark/Copyright Law—With a Focus on Protecting Software IP” on Tuesday, Aug. 28, at Oakland Hills Country Club in Bloomfield Hills.  Miller Canfield intellectual property lawyers Caroline Giordano (third from left) and Kimberly Berger (third from right) led the discussion which took a look at what is and is not protectable under copyright and trademark law; nuts and bolts of registration for software trademarks and copyrights; and the benefits and potential risks of trademark and copyright registration for software owners.  Also on hand for the discussion were (left to right) Jerry Curtis, Jeffrey Richardson of Miller Canfield, Bob Ford, Phil Goy, and Adam Link.
