Development opportunities featured in One Stop Ready Showcase of Properties

Investors, bankers, brokers, home builders or anyone interested in 49 development-ready opportunities in 22 Oakland County communities can get their project rolling quickly at the 2018 One Stop Ready Showcase of Properties.

The properties, which include downtown sites in Clawson, Oxford, Pontiac, Royal Oak, and Wixom are among those ready for development. The showcase runs Friday, Nov. 2, from 8 to 11 a.m. in the Oakland Schools Auditorium, 2111 Pontiac Lake Road, in Waterford. There is no cost to attend but registration is required at AdvantageOakland.Eventbrite.com. A free book containing the available properties will be distributed at the showcase.

"Connecting with a One Stop Ready community gets your project opening on schedule which saves you time and money," said Oakland County Executive L. Brooks Patterson, who is scheduled to attend. "There are wonderful development opportunities available in some prime locations in the county."

Patterson created the One Stop Ready program in 2013 to help communities embrace and streamline strategies that encourage economic development to implement a community's vision. It provides resources, tools and training necessary to capitalize on community strengths while focusing on alignment between boards and commissions. It makes the development process more efficient through a customer-friendly, solutions-oriented approach to economic development.

Josh Champagne, director of facilities at Search Optics in Ferndale, is the keynote speaker. He will discuss partnering with communities for success.

Representatives from each community will be available to discuss their ready-to-go development opportunities. The communities are: Berkley, Clawson, Farmington Hills, Ferndale, Highland Township, Independence Township, Keego Harbor, Lake Orion, Lyon Township, Madison Heights, Oak Park, Orion Township, Oxford, Pontiac, Royal Oak, Royal Oak Township, Southfield, Troy, Waterford, West Bloomfield, White Lake Township, and Wixom.

This is the fifth year for the event. In 2014, each community made a presentation and answered questions. Due to attendee feedback, the showcase evolved to spotlighting particular properties. Eighteen properties were featured in 2015; 29 in 2016; 32 in 2017; and 49 this year.
