The Detroit Chapter of the Association of Certified E-Discovery Specialists (ACEDS) hosted the Inaugural ACEDS Midwest Regional Conference October 25-26 at the Greektown Hotel in Detroit. The event, which doubled as the organization’s Third Annual e-Discovery Symposium, also included the ACEDS Chicago and Twin Cities Chapters. Workshop sessions included: Setting Up a Successful e-Discovery Department; The Role of Special/e-Discovery Masters; AI – Defining, Demystifying, and Paths to Really Using Artificial Intelligence; and Data Breach Litigation. The keynote speech was delivered by George Socha, managing director of BDO’s Forensic Technology Services practice and a noted author in the e-Discovery field. Former Michigan Supreme Court Justice Mary Beth Kelly, now a mediator with JAMS in Detroit, also was among the featured speakers.
