'The Law & Lay-up'

A panel discussion and basketball tournament titled “The Law & Lay-up” was presented Friday, Oct. 26, by the Solomon’s Temple Youth Department in Detroit. With the help of judges, attorneys, police officers, and other legal professionals, the program sought to deter young people from making poor decisions. Speaking on the panel were (seated, left to right) Akisha Michelle Johnson of Law Offices of A. Michelle Johnson PLLC, Oakland County 46th District Court Judge Debra Nance, and Wayne County 36th District Court Judges Demetria Brue, program coordinator, and Ruth Ann Garrett; along with (standing, left to right) Wayne County Assisting Prosecuting Attorney Ron Haywood, Wayne County 36th District Court Judge Kenneth J. King, Barbara Pittman of Solomon’s Temple, Assistant Pastor Van Adams of Solomon’s Temple, and Wayne County 36th District Court Judge Christopher M. Blount.
