Bodman admits five new members



Bodman PLC is pleased to announce that Darren J. Burmania, Robert J. Cambridge, Michael J. Jameson, Kelly M. Lockman, and Nicholas P. McElhinny have been admitted as members of the firm. Burmania was previously a senior attorney and the rest were previously senior associates with Bodman.

Burmania, who is based in Bodman’s Grand Rapids office, is a member of the Banking, Business, Bankruptcy and Debtor-Creditor Rights, and Litigation and Alternative Dispute Resolution practice groups. He represents financial institutions and corporate clients in a variety of transactional and business law matters, including in connection with sale and purchase of assets, real estate matters, contract issues, employment issues, and intellectual property matters, and has litigated many complex commercial disputes. He advises business clients on entity formation, succession planning, and asset protection.

Burmania is a member of the State Bar of Michigan (SBM) Business Law Section and the Grand Rapids Bar Association. He serves on the board of directors of Ele's Place, a non-profit creating awareness of and support for grieving children and their families.

Cambridge, a member of the Business Practice Group, will practice in the Troy office. He represents business clients in matters involving entity selection and formation, entity governance, mergers and acquisitions, and other complex corporate transactions, and advises start-ups and early stage companies on capital-raising activities and compliance with securities law. Cambridge is a member of the SBM Business Law Section and the Association for Corporate Growth, Detroit Chapter.

Jameson will practice in the High Net Worth practice group in the Detroit office. He advises individual clients on all aspects of their personal and business legal needs with a particular focus on estate planning, business planning, and estate, gift, and income tax matters for business owners, professionals, executives, and other high net worth individuals. Jameson is a member of the Financial and Estate Planning Council of Southeast Michigan, the Detroit Economic Club, and the Probate & Estate Planning and Real Property Law sections of SBM.

Lockman is a member of the Real Estate and Banking Practice Groups in the Detroit office. She represents financial institutions and others in a variety of real estate and real estate financing transactions. She is a member of the SBM Business Law and Real Property Law Sections, as well as Detroit Economic Club and Inforum Michigan.

McElhinny will work in the Business, Health Care, and Aviation Practice Groups in Detroit. He represents business and healthcare clients in a variety of transactional matters, and aviation clients in leasing, purchasing, operating, and selling aircraft and negotiating agreements.

McElhinny is a member of the SBM Business, Health Care Law, and Aviation Law Sections.
