The Michigan Association for Justice (MAJ) hosted a plaintiff members-only evening forum titled “Techniques for Effective Voir Dire” on Thursday, March 14, at the Detroit Marriott Southfield. Speaking at the event were (left to right) Moderator Brian McKeen, of McKeen & Associates PC, and Anthony Randazzo, of Secrest Wardle. Also speaking at the forum (but not pictured) was Oakland County Circuit Court Chief Judge Shalina Kumar. Voir dire is perhaps the most important part of a trial, yet even experienced attorneys rank their voir dire skills as suboptimal. Attendees learned how to maximize opportunities to identify and excuse jurors who will kill a case.
