Celebrating Our Diverse Bar

The 10th Annual Michael K. Lee Celebrating Our Diverse Bar event took place Thursday, March 28, at Cost Plus Wine Shoppe in Detroit’s Eastern Market. The joint mixer of more than 20 bar associations offered a fun, relaxed opportunity for local attorneys to make new connections and strengthen existing networks.  Among those on hand for the celebration were (left to right) Michigan Court of Appeals Judge Kirsten Frank Kelly, Lisa Tehlirian, Manpreet Gill, Wayne County 31st District Court Judge Alexis Krot, retired Judge William Giovan, Michigan Court of Appeals Judge Karen Fort Hood, Oakland County Circuit Court Judge Denise Langford Morris, Elisa Angeli Palizzi, Wayne County Circuit Court Judge Prentis Edwards Jr., Dawn Ison, Susan DeClercq, and Terrence Haugabook.  Sponsoring bar associations included American Board of Trial Advocates—Michigan Chapter, Arab American Bar Association, Armenian American Bar Association, Association of Black Judges of Michigan, Black Women Lawyers’ Association of Michigan, Catholic Lawyers Society, Consumer Bankruptcy Association, D. Augustus Straker Bar Association, Detroit Bar Association, Federal Bar Association—Eastern District of Michigan Chapter, Floyd Skinner Bar Association, Hellenic Bar Association, Hispanic Bar Association of Michigan, Incorporated Society of Irish American Lawyers, Jewish Bar Association of Michigan, Michigan Defense Trial Counsel, Polish American Legal Society, South Asian Bar Association of Michigan, State Bar of Michigan, Wolverine Bar Association, and Women Lawyers Association of Michigan.
