Augustus Straker Bar Association, the Association of Black Judges of Michigan, and the Wolverine Bar Association co-sponsored the 26th Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Drum Major for Justice Oral Advocacy Competition on Saturday, May 18, at Wayne State University Law School. Hood, finalist Donovan Rogers of University High School Academy, Peter Hammer, Wayne County 36th District Court?Judge Demetria Brue, Nikkiya Branch, Jehan Crump-Gibson, Wayne County Probate Court Judge David A. Perkins, and Tiffany Buckley-Norwood. The purpose of the competition is to promote oral advocacy among high school students and encourage them to develop and improve their analytical and writing skills.
