The Southeast Chapter of the Michigan Mortgage Lenders Association presented a luncheon on “Marijuana Lending” on Thursday, July 11, at Maggiano’s Little Italy in Troy. With the passage of Proposal 1 making marijuana legal in Michigan, the impact affects a multitude of industries including mortgage lending. To help address issues and answer questions at the luncheon was attorney Melissa Bridges (center) of Bodman PLC. As a member of the firm’s Banking Practice Group, Bridges represents financial institutions in a range of operational, regulatory compliance, and lending matters. Welcoming Bridges to the luncheon were (left to right) Dawn Burdick of Titleocity, SE Chapter Vice President Paula Rosneck of Essent Guaranty Inc., Mike Fontana of Guaranteed Rate Inc., Steve Scheel of Croskey Lanni PC, SE Chapter President Maureen Townson of Genworth Mortgage Insurance Corp., and Brian McCown of Ross Mortgage Corp.
