Attorney Paula K. Manis from the Lansing law firm of Loomis, Ewert, Parsley, Davis & Gotting has been selected by her peers for inclusion in the 26th Edition of The Best Lawyers in America for her work in arbitration; mediation; and oil and gas law.
In addition, peers have recognized Manis as one of the 2020 "Lawyer of the Year" award recipients, for her work in mediation in Lansing. Only a single lawyer in each practice area and community is honored with a "Lawyer of the Year" award.
Manis is experienced in alternative dispute resolution, serving as both a mediator and arbitrator in oil and gas related matters, Federal crop insurance matters and other civil matters.
She has maintained a diverse oil and gas practice for over 30 years. Starting out as a field landman for Amoco in Michigan, she has worked within and on the side of the oil and gas industry her entire legal career.
Manis counsels multiple major and independent oil and gas companies in all aspects of oil and gas matters. She is experienced in pulling together sophisticated joint ventures and drilling programs, negotiating and drafting purchase and sale contracts, exploration agreements, JOAs and other industry-related contracts. She has extensive experience in acquisitions and divestures, including negotiating and drafting letters of intent and buy-sell agreements, as well as working closely with clients through the entire due diligence process.
