Suicide Awareness Walk and Rally slated for Sept. 6

The “Stomp Out Suicide” Awareness Walk and Rally is set for 6 to 9 p.m. on Friday Sept. 6, at the Michigan Theatre of Jackson, 124 N. Mechanic St.

The event, featuring Safe Schools Advocate Jamie Nabozny, will be followed by a Luminary Awareness Walk.

The cost is $10 for online registration, and $15 at the door, and includes a T-shirt and goodie bag.

The annual event honors lives lost to suicide, and celebrates survivors, friends and families, spreads awareness, and educates the community on the impact suicide has had in Jackson.

Attendees will also learn how to identify signs and symptoms of suicide and depression and where to get professional help and treatment.
