Legal Ethics Seminar offered by FBA, Sept. 25

The Federal Bar Association, Eastern District of Michigan Chapter, Legal Ethics Committee will present a lunch seminar from noon to 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 25, in the Detroit Room of the Theodore Levin U.S. Courthouse, 231 W. Lafayette Blvd. in Detroit.

The Legal Ethics Seminar will highlight important ethical concerns that all attorneys may come across in their practices, including, among other topics, inherent risks of improper IOLTA account use; how to identify and address potential client conflicts; and how to avoid ethical pitfalls when conducting discovery on a case that has witnesses or fact patterns that overlap with a prior case.

Wayne State University Law School Professor Peter Henning and Attorney Grievance Commission Staff Attorney Sarah Lindsey will be panelists for the program. Lynn Helland, the executive director of the Judicial Tenure Commission, will moderate the discussion.

The seminar is free but registration is required.  To register by Sept. 24, visit www.fbamich.org and click on “events.” Attendees who would like to purchase lunch should register by Sept. 23 (there is separate registration for lunch).
