As part of its efforts to foster diversity in the bankruptcy bench and bar, the Judicial Conference of the United States Committee on the Administration of the Bankruptcy System presents “Roadways to the Federal Bench: Who, Me? A Bankruptcy Judge?” The program will be held Thursday, Oct.24, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Theodore Levin U.S. Courthouse, 231 W. Lafayette in Detroit.
In an effort to improve diversity in the bankruptcy bench and bar and the federal bench in general, the Judicial Conference of the U.S. Committee on the Administration of the Bankruptcy System is hosting a simultaneous, nationwide event occurring live in 19 cities, including Detroit.
The event is open to all lawyers and law students. It will start with a livestreamed engaging panel discussion.
An hour of “roundtable” discussions will follow, where judges at your table will talk about their roadways and answer questions. Every fifteen minutes, the judges will move to another table.
Participating judges include: U.S. Court of Appeals Judge Helene White, Sixth Circuit; U.S. District Court Chief Judge Denise Page Hood, Eastern District of Michigan, along with other Eastern District of Michigan judges including Judge Gershwin Drain, Judge Thomas Ludington, Judge Linda Parker, Judge Victoria Roberts, Judge Terrence Berg, Judge Nancy Edmonds, Chief Magistrate Judge Mona Majzoub, Magistrate Judge Stephanie Dawkins-Davis, and Magistrate Judge Elizabeth Stafford; and U.S. Bankruptcy Court, Eastern District of Michigan, Judges Maria Oxholm, Mark Randon, Joel D. Applebaum.
