The Oakland County Bar Association and Women's Bar Association will present “Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion: In Action” on Thursday, Oct. 31, from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Federal Reserve, 1600 E. Warren Ave. in Detroit.
The OCBA and WBA seek to gather the best and brightest minds in an impactful dialogue about:
—Why strong inclusive strategies are important
—Actions that others have taken to advance diversity, equity, and inclusion (DE&I) initiatives.
—How we can each increase DE&I awareness in our communities, businesses, and organizations.
Participants will learn how to build the business case for DE&I, be an effective DE&I leader, and strategically create, improve, and implement DE&I initiatives.
Facilitating the program will be Michigan Diversity Council Executive Director Darlene King and 2B Inclusive LLC Managing Partner Tedi R. Parsons. Panelists will include:
• Zenell Brown, court administrator, Wayne County Circuit Court.
• Greg Conyers, director of diversity, State Bar of Michigan.
• Jody Guastella Jones, diversity & inclusion manager, Mercedes-Benz Financial Services.
• Julie Fershtman, VP & managing shareholder, Foster, Swift, Collins & Smith PC.
• Mindi Johnson, co-leader of Business and Tax Practice Group, Foster, Swift, Collins, & Smith PC.
The program begins with registration and light breakfast from 8 to 9 a.m. followed by the panel discussions until 1:30 p.m. Lunch will be served in the afternoon.
Cost is $40 for pre-registration and $50 for day-of registration.
