Bodman PLC announced that the editors of Michigan Super Lawyers 2019 included three members of the firm on the annual list of the Top 100 practitioners in Michigan: Timothy R. Damschroder from the Ann Arbor office; and Ralph E. McDowell, and Joseph J. Shannon from the Detroit office.
Damschroder is co-chair of the firm’s Business Practice Group. He specializes in middle-market M&A transactions and has substantial experience serving as outside general counsel to automotive, industrial, and technology companies. He also specializes in dealing with technology companies from start up to transactions involving intellectual property, to venture capital financing, to eventual sale.
Damschroder is a recipient of the State Bar of Michigan’s Stephen H. Schulman Outstanding Business Lawyer Award.
In addition to Super Lawyers he has been recognized by Chambers USA, IFLR1000, The Best Lawyers in America, and DBusiness as one of Michigan’s leading corporate/M&A attorneys.
In 2013, Gov. Rick Snyder appointed Damschroder to the newly created Michigan Health Endowment Fund Board. The Fund, created under Public Act 4 of 2013, will benefit the health and wellness of Michigan residents through programs focusing on children and seniors. Damschroder serves as chairperson of the Fund, which is expected to receive up to $1.56 billion in contributions over 18 years.
Damschroder is a past president of the Business Law Section of the State Bar of Michigan, a past president of Board of Directors of Peace Neighborhood Center, a past vice chair of the Board of Directors of Nonprofit Enterprise At Work (NEW Center), and a past member of the St. Joseph Mercy Health System’s Development Council, a past member of the Board of Directors of the Washtenaw County United Way, and served on various committees of Zion Lutheran Church in Ann Arbor.
