Varnum elects five attorneys to the partnership
Varnum is pleased to announce that Mallory Field, Kevin Macaddino, Katie Roskam, Sam Vitale and Sarah Wixson have been elected to the firm’s partnership.
“Our slate of new partners this year reflects the firm’s growing presence in the Southeast Michigan region,” said Varnum Chair Ron DeWaard.. “Each of these attorneys is an exceptional practitioner, and we are pleased to welcome them to the partnership.”
The new partners represent a variety of professional backgrounds, including practicing elsewhere before joining the firm.
“This new partner class represents five key practice areas of the firm that are poised for growth, and for the laterals is a reflection of how quickly attorneys integrate here,” said Executive Partner Scott Hill.
Katie Roskam is a tax attorney based in the Grand Rapids office. She joined the firm in 2013 as an associate. With an extensive range and depth of tax knowledge, Roskam works with clients in any area where tax is a consideration, including real estate, estate planning, qualified opportunity zones, litigation, mergers and acquisitions, employee benefits, health care and
more. She is a graduate of Loyola University Chicago School of Law and Hope College, and has an LL.M. in taxation from Northwestern University School of Law.
Mallory Field is a corporate and financial services attorney in the Novi office. She joined as an associate in 2015 from a small business firm after clerking with the EPA in Washington, D.C. Field is a graduate of Michigan State University College of Law and Albion College.
Kevin Macaddino, in Novi, focuses on commercial real estate with specialties in medical office buildings, apartments, industrial facilities and shopping centers. Prior to joining Varnum as counsel in 2017, he formed and managed a boutique firm. He received his undergraduate degree from Michigan State University and his J.D. from Wayne State University.
Sam Vitale is a commercial litigation and family law attorney based in the Novi office. He joined the firm in 2016, after practicing for several years at a Southfield-based business firm. His J.D. is from Wayne State University Law School and his undergraduate degree from Michigan State University.
Sarah Wixson is a business and health care attorney based in Ann Arbor. She graduated from Wayne State University Law School and Hope College.
