The Oakland County Bar Association presented “Brownfield Incentives: An Overview for Legal Practitioners” on Wednesday, March 4, at the OCBA offices in Bloomfield Hills. Speaking at the seminar were (left to right) Eric Helzer of Advanced Redevelopment Solutions, moderator Nicholas Maloof of Associated Environmental Services LLC, Brad Hansen of Oakland County Economic Development & Community Affairs, and Marko Belej of Jaffe, Raitt, Heuer, & Weiss PC. The speakers examined the environmental, financial, tax, community and regulatory factors that impact brownfield redevelopment. They also explored the tax and funding opportunities that exist for communities and developers seeking to revitalize underutilized buildings and land.
