Don’t miss your chance to be a part of Raising the Bar 2020, the Detroit Bar Association’s Annual Meeting and Awards Presentation—held virtually this year on Thursday, Aug. 13, from 4 to 5 p.m.
“Join us for an evening of celebration and recognition, including installation of Detroit Bar officers, and honoring those who have shown exceptional dedication to the outreach and growth of the law, within both the Detroit Bar and community,” said a spokesperson for the Detroit Bar.
The 2020 Detroit Bar honorees include: Lt. Governor Garlin Gilchrist, winner of the Liberty Bell Award; Watne County Circuit Court Judge Patricia Perez Fresard, the recipient of the President’s Award; John Sier, winner of the Frank Murphy Award; Committee of the Year Awards will be presented to Zenell Brown and Jim Rosenfeld (co-chairs of Diversity Committee); the Detroit Bar Legal Scholar Award recipient will be Jamele Hage; the Pro Bono Service Award will be presented to Wilson, Elser, Moskowitz, Edelman, & Dicker LLP (accepting award will be Cara Swindlehurst).
To be sworn in as the new president of the DBA will be Daniel Shirey of Kitch Drutchas. He will succeed outgoing president Joanne Geha Swanson of Kerr Russell.
