Association to explore 'Failed Trademarks that Enhance Language'

The Michigan Intellectual Property Law Association (MIPLA) will host a virtual luncheon meeting on Tuesday, February 23, from noon to 1 p.m. via Zoom.

During this luncheon, Steven L. Permut, a shareholder at Reising Ethington PC, will be presenting "Failed Trademarks that Enhance the English Language."

Permut is a registered patent attorney with a robust trademark practice. He was a professor of trademark and unfair competition law at Ave Maria School of Law. Permut's presentation will provide a review of trademarks that have become genericized, along with strategies for advising trademark clients at the outset of the marketing and registration process.

Those interested in attending should email Andrea Arndt at AArndt@dickinsonwright.com by February 16 and she will send a link to the meeting a few hours before the meeting starts.
