The Michigan Intellectual Property Law Association (MIPLA) will host a virtual meeting noon to 1 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 23, via Zoom.
Steven L. Permut, a shareholder at Reising Ethington PC, will present "Failed Trademarks that Enhance the English Language."
Permut is a registered patent attorney with a robust trademark practice. He was a professor of trademark and unfair competition law at Ave Maria School of Law. His presentation will provide a review of trademarks that have become genericized, along with strategies for advising trademark clients at the outset of the marketing and registration process.
