Jewish Bar Association of Michigan awards scholarship to Detroit Mercy Law 2L

Chase Yarber, a 2L at University of Detroit Mercy School of Law, received the 2021 Charles J. Cohen Scholarship from the Jewish Bar Association of Michigan. This scholarship recognizes law students who have shown a commitment to making a positive difference in the legal community and beyond.

"I am proud of my heritage and want to make an impact on the Jewish community with my work," commented Yarber. "I have always followed the ideals of Judaism of giving back to the community. I strive to be a selfless person and want to transform these traits into being a successful lawyer that can help people in my community."

Yarber is currently a member of the Moot Court Board of Advocates and Law Review at Detroit Mercy Law. He was recently elected to serve as the executive editor of outside articles on the 2021-22 Law Review Editorial Board. Last summer, Yarber was a judicial intern to Michigan Supreme Court Justice Brian Zahra and this summer will work as a summer associate at Honigman LLP.
