Curtis, Curtis & Brelinski, P.C., celebrating its 120th year serving the greater Jackson community and soon to open a Lansing office, has added attorney Jeffrey T. Landon and his assistant, Heather Kimbrell.
Landon joined in February. Previously, he worked for Lange & Donovan, PLLP in North Dakota, followed by Farhat & Story, P.C., in Lansing.
Landon assists individuals and businesses with a variety of issues, including bankruptcy, business law, collections, criminal, divorce and custody, driver license restoration, estate planning, expungement, general civil, landlord-tenant law, liquor control, and real estate.
He is a member of the State Bar of Michigan Character & Fitness Committee.
Landon graduated with a BSc., magna cum laude, from Eastern Michigan University, obtained his MBA from EMU, and his JD, magna cum laude, from Michigan State University College of Law. While attending MSU Law, he gained a wide range of experience in the Michigan Tax Tribunal, a County Public Defender's Office, and a County Prosecutor's Office. Prior to law school, he worked for Ford Motor Company.
In 2020, Landon received the Pro Bono Award from the Ingham County Bar Association. He has volunteered through the IRS VITA tax preparation program in the City of Jackson and Brooklyn.
Landon grew up south of Ann Arbor and has lived in Jackson County since 2005, where he lives on his wife’s family farm that has been in her family since 1844. He enjoys spending time with family and serving his community.
Landon’s assistant, Heather E. Kimbrell, worked for nearly 17 years for Farhat & Story, P.C. in Lansing, providing legal support in a variety of areas including family law, post-judgment matters, civil litigation, real estate, business formation, estate planning, collections, and landlord tenant matters, along with many other administrative responsibilities.
A Michigan native, she earned her undergrad degree in physiology from MSU.
She enjoys being active, spending time outdoors with her animals, including goats and chickens, and being involved in the extracurricular activities of her four children.
