The Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office has charged Branden Todd Odegaard (37), Michael Ray Graves (47), and Macy Kathleen-Grant Pietryga (26), each of Wolverine Lake, in response to an incident in the early morning hours of April 26, 2021.
Walled Lake Police responded to a 911 call from the home of an African American family and located the defendants nearby. Witnesses alleged that the defendants broke into the home and threatened to kill the occupants, including two children. One of the defendants allegedly used a racial epithet.
The Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office has charged Branden Odegaard and Michael Graves with one count each of home invasion in the 1st degree, a felony punishable by up to 20 years and/or $5,000, as well as one count each of ethnic intimidation, a felony punishable by 2 years and/or $5,000. Macy Pietryga is charged with aiding and abetting home invasion in the 1st degree, a felony punishable by up to 20 years and/or $5,000, as well as one count
each of ethnic intimidation, a felony punishable by 2 years and/or $5,000.
Oakland County Prosecutor Karen D. McDonald stated, “I want to be very clear that I have zero tolerance for hate crimes. Hate has no place here in Oakland County, and I will do everything in my power to hold those who attempt to threaten or harm our residents accountable.”
