Four elected to seats on OCBA Board

Three incumbents and one newcomer were elected to the Oakland County Bar Association Board of Directors during its annual election in May.

Elected to three-year terms – ending June 30, 2024 – were incumbent Aaron Burrell, an attorney with Dickinson Wright; Melinda Deel, current treasurer of the OCBA Board; Dean Googasian, secretary of the OCBA Board; and Kimberley Ann Ward, a past president of the D. Augustus Straker Bar Association.

“A big thank you to this year’s candidates for participating,” said Jennifer Roosenberg, executive director of the OCBA. “This was an incredibly qualified slate of candidates with every candidate having contributed to the OCBA in so many different ways. Their willingness to run for the OCBA Board makes the OCBA a stronger bar association, one that is better suited to making an impact on our delivery of services to members, to our community, and to the legal profession.”

According to Roosenberg, “of the 2,306 eligible voters in this year’s election, 527 members voted for a total of 22.85 percent voter turnout.”
