The Business Law Section of the State Bar of Michigan will present “The Biden Tax Plan: What You and Your Clients Need to Know” on Tuesday, June 8, from 6 to 7:15 p.m. via Zoom.
The online program will discuss important highlights of the Biden administration tax proposals concerning individual and business income tax and estate and gift tax.
Speakers will include:
• Bruce W. Haffey of Giarmarco, Mullins, and Horton PC (moderator). Haffey is a senior business and tax attorney and has handled complex business transactions for small and middle market business clients for over 35 years. He represents clients in a wide assortment of industries.
• Margaret Amsden of Clayton McKervey. Amsden is a shareholder in her firm’s Private Client Services Practice, and focuses her practice in the areas of individual, estate, and succession planning tax strategies and entity structuring.
• Brett Bissonnette of Plante Moran. Bissonnette leads Plante Moran’s Tax Controversy practice, which assists clients with resolving examinations, appeals and other disputes with the IRS.
• Alan Gallatin of Plante Moran. Gallatin is a leader with Plante Moran’s National Tax Office (NTO), providing tax technical assistance to client engagement teams. His expertise includes federal corporate tax issues and Accounting for Income Taxes (ASC 740).
