The American Bar Association will present a webinar on “The Benefits of Diversity in Cross-Border Data Practice” on Thursday, June 24, beginning at noon.
Cross-border discovery, privacy and data security are areas of legal practice that uniquely benefit from diversity.
In today’s digitally integrated world, different populations use technologies in different ways. Awareness of preferences for different forms of communication, including the use of particular platforms, language and symbols, can critically impact an investigation. At the same time, privacy and security concerns take on different meanings and dimensions for different constituents. Systemic issues such as implicit bias can obscure these issues.
The webinar’s panel will explore ways in which a cross-border team benefits from bringing a culturally rich approach to its practice, and consider ways to foster diversity.
Cost for the webinar is $130. To register, visit www.americanbar.org and click on “events.”
