The State Bar of Michigan Labor & Employment Law Section (LELS) is excited to announce that it will be hosting its annual Springboard event on Thursday, July 29. This year's event, "Behind Closed Doors: Inside Perspectives on Resolving Employment Disputes," will take place from 4 to 8 p.m. at The Reserve at Big Rock Chop House located at 245 S. Eton Street in Birmingham.
Featured confirmed mediators include U.S. District Court Magistrate Judge Kimberly Altman, Eastern District of Michigan, Thomas Barnes, David Calzone, David Kotzian, retired Magistrate Judge Mona Majzoub, and Antoinette Raheem.
The seminar portion of the program will consist of three 40-minute-long roundtable discussions with these experienced mediators discussing various issues in resolving employment disputes. The seminar will last from 4 to 6 p.m. and will be followed by a reception with cocktails and heavy hors d'oeuvres from 6 to 8 p.m.
The Reserve has taken significant precautions to ensure the safety of its guests to address concerns during the ongoing pandemic. This event has been scheduled to occur in its well-ventilated tents to allow for ample seating and air circulation.
