Department of State suspends license of Troy vehicle dealership

The Michigan Department of State (MDOS) has issued a summary suspension on a Troy vehicle dealership for failing to provide records during attempted MDOS inspections following multiple consumer complaints.

JJ’s Best Auto Sales, located at 2838 E. Long Lake Road in Troy and owned by Julian Johnson, was served with a summary suspension on Sept. 7. Following multiple complaints of customers being left without titles, a MDOS regulation agent attempted complaint inspections on March 10 and Sept. 1. The dealership was found to be vacated and records were not available for inspection. Prior to suspension, a preliminary conference was scheduled with attempted notifications
unacknowledged by the owner. This facility has a documented history of vacating licensed locations and prior summary suspensions.

The suspension remains in effect until Johnson contacts the MDOS Business Compliance and Regulation Division to set up another preliminary hearing and provide all required documents.

Consumers who have a complaint against JJ’s Best Auto Sales in Troy are encouraged to call the Office of Investigative Services automotive complaint line at 517-335-1410.
