The Prosecuting Attorneys Association of Michigan's Traffic Safety Training Program will present "Lethal Weapon 2: Crash to Courtroom 2021." This prosecutors-only training will take place Wednesday and Thursday, December 1-2, online via Zoom.
This two-day virtual course focuses on increasing the ability of Michigan prosecutors and crash reconstruction officers to communicate effectively and confidently in the courtroom on cases involving crash reconstruction testimony.
This course includes a mock court case using a crash case in which prosecutors and officers will take turn conducting direct examination and testimony.
Presenter Professor John Kwasnoski has reconstructed more than a thousand crashes and has testified in numerous cases of national significance.
The goals of this training include:
• Understanding the importance of credibility building during testimony.
• Developing skills that will enhance the connection between the crash reconstruction witness and jurors.
• Gaining insight into defense trial strategies and understanding the courtroom "rules."
There is no fee to attend this online training. Registration is limited to 15 prosecutors. To register by the November 23 deadline, visit www.michiganprosecutor.org and click on "training."
Final confirmations with training details will be emailed approximately 1 week prior to the seminar.
