'Evidence Boot Camp' offered in-person December 10

The Criminal Defense Association of Michigan will present "Evidence Boot Camp D" on Friday, December 10, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in person at the State Appellate Defender Office, 3031 W Grand Blvd., Suite 450, in Detroit.

Attendees do not have to take prior Boot Camps to attend this Boot Camp. Speaking at the hands-on small group training will be Harry Mihas and Nicole Smith of Smith Mihas PLLC.

Mihas is an expert in criminal defense and family law in both trial and appellate courts. He was a staff attorney to U.S. Court of Appeals Judge Gerald W. Heaney, Eighth Circuit, and clerked for U.S. District Court Judges John Feikens, George Caram Steeh, and John Corbett O'Meara, Eastern District of Michigan. He earned his law degree from the University of Michigan Law School. Prior to his legal career, Mihas was a television news producer and writer at WXYZ and WDIV in Detroit.

Smith has over a decade of experience in Family Law, Criminal Law, Estate Planning, and Probate Law. She is a former executive board member of CDAM; a member of the Family Law Section and Criminal Law Section of the State Bar of Michigan; and is a member of the Hellenic Bar Association, Wayne County Family Law Bar Association, Wayne County Criminal Bar, and the Downriver Bar Association (former president 2006 -07). Smith earned her law degree from Western Michigan University Cooley Law School and her Bachelor of Science from Eastern Michigan University.

Cost for the online training is $240. Participants will earn 8 skill or annual hours.
