A free seminar was held at Western Michigan University Cooley Law School to educate legal professionals, law students, and others on the state of Michigan’s expungement process. The panelists for the seminar included Paul Basore, president of the Great Lakes Expungement Network in Lansing; Marisa Vinsky, an attorney with Chartier & Nyamfukudza PLC in Okemos; and Paul Tylenda, an attorney with Tylenda Law in Grosse Pointe Farms. The panelists talked about changes in Michigan law and what that meant for attorneys and clients. They offered practical tips on working with the Attorney General’s Office, county prosecutors’ offices, and clients. Audience members were provided with access to forms and checklists the panelists found helpful in expungement work.
