'Working with Parents Who Are Incarcerated in State Prison' explored

The Michigan Judicial Institute and Friend of the Court Bureau will present a webinar on "Working with Parents Who Are Incarcerated in State Prison" Thursday, August 11, from 9 to 10 a.m. via Zoom.

This webinar will feature insight from Michigan Department of Corrections (MDOC) staff. Presenters will discuss prisoner communication options and restrictions, the MDOC "journey" through the prison system and release, including probation/parole and transfers, the prerelease process and MDOC's vocational village programs, family visitation options, and both barriers and motivations for successful reentry after release. Each topic will highlight how friend of the court and other child support system professionals can coordinate with MDOC to effectively serve families.
