The State Bar of Michigan’s LGBTQA Section will present “Lawyer Well-Being and Embodied Social Justice Reform” online Wednesday, December 7, from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. via Zoom.
During this session, attendees will be provided practical tools and research relating to lawyer well-being and how embodied individual and then inter-group healing might affect positive change. Topics covered will include mindfulness-based interventions for reducing stress, compassion fatigue, burnout, and bias; the benefits of cultivating emotional intelligence skills; how lawyers, as officers of the legal system and the public, are uniquely positioned to shift the structures, institutions, processes, and value orientations of the larger systems of which they are apart; and how lawyer well-being movements might illuminate paths to restorative and transformative justice reform.
Speaking during the online program will be Katie Stanley & Angie Martell.
