Prosecutor's office launches 'Knocking Violence Out of My School' video competition

The Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office is dedicated to working diligently in doing the best job to prevent school threats, violence, weapons, and bullying in Macomb County schools. Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido has implemented a student competition called “Knocking Violence Out of My School” so students have a voice to talk peer to peer about how they feel about school threats, violence, weapons, and bullying.

The “Knocking Violence Out of My School” video competition consists of students making videos on anti-threats, anti-violence, anti-weapons, and/or anti-bullying. The video should be no longer than two minutes and will be judged by the six assistant prosecuting attorneys assigned to the Juvenile Unit. The videos can be taken by any social media platform including TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, or a cell phone.

Awards will be given to the top three videos and the student’s school will receive a Hero Award from the Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office.

The deadline for submissions is Friday, February 17, and the winners and their schools will be announced Wednesday, March 1. Submissions can be emailed to the Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office Communications Director Dawn Fraylick at Dawn.Fraylick@macombgov.org. For questions call Fraylick at 586-469-5737.
