Venture Inc., a housing subsidiary of OLHSA (Oakland Livingston Human Service Agency), was recently awarded a $45,000 grant from MSHDA (Michigan State Housing Development Authority). This grant will be used for the Porches and Painting Program to assist homeowners located within the GM Modern Housing and Unity Park neighborhoods in the City of Pontiac.
“Grants like this are critically important to ensure that our citizens can afford to maintain and enhance their properties,” said Mayor Tim Greimel. “Pontiac has many vibrant neighborhoods with residents who take pride in their responsibilities as homeowners, and both OLHSA and MSHDA are proven partners we can count on to invest in our community. We are always happy to collaborate with OLHSA and MSHDA and look forward to working with them on more programs in the future.”
In September 2022, MSHDA announced that the Neighborhood Enhancement Program (NEP) would provide up to $2 million in MSHDA funding statewide for activities directly tied to the stabilization and enhancement of Michigan’s rural communities and urban neighborhoods.
MSHDA’s NEP funding is dedicated to housing-oriented activities that are highly visible; impactful to the area and benefit the resident’s quality of life. “The award of the Neighborhood Enhancement Program Funding Round 8 allows Venture to continue to assist homeowners with necessary updates to improve and maintain their homes in the City of Pontiac,” says Brad Michaud, president of Venture
Inc. “We have been honored to work in partnership with MSHDA through 7 previous funding rounds and look forward to supporting more Pontiac homeowners with housing needs.”
The Venture Inc. Porches and Painting program targets owner-occupied homes within selected neighborhoods and focuses on exterior repairs such as front porches, steps, railings, exterior housing painting, and gutters.
