Dykema elects members in Lansing and Ann Arbor

Dykema’s Executive Board elected 10 new partners effective Jan. 1, including six in Michigan, with two in Lansing and one Ann Arbor.

Kyle M. Asher – Government Solutions; Lansing, helps clients—which include some of the largest automakers, universities, and insurers—with their most pressing appeals, class actions, and regulatory matters. In his litigation practice, he has drafted dozens of appellate briefs and presented oral argument before the Michigan Court of Appeals on multiple occasions. Asher has also achieved numerous successful outcomes in nationwide class actions in venues across the country. In his regulatory practice, he provides compliance advice to clients operating in highly regulated industries—with a particular focus on education, election, and insurance law—to keep them on the right side of the law and away from enforcement actions and regulatory scrutiny.

Asher received a J.D., magna cum laude, and a B.A. in finance, with honors, from Michigan State University. Before joining Dykema, he served as a law clerk to the Honorable Robert Holmes Bell at the United States District Court for the Western District of Michigan.

Erin A. Sedmak – Financial Services Litigation; Lansing, litigates critical emergent issues for her clients, whether it be at the trial court or appellate level, by combining her technical knowledge with her ability to assess and frame complex issues and provide an informed perspective. While she advocates for clients in the insurance and financial services industries, her work spans numerous fields, such as Native-American law for which she has been recognized. Outside of the courtroom, Sedmak leverages her industry knowledge for clients in the form of general counsel services and collaborates to advise clients on sophisticated regulatory, gaming, and other matters.

She earned a J.D., magna cum laude, from Cooley Law School and a B.F.A., cum laude, from The University of Michigan.

Paul T. Stewart – Litigation and Environmental; Ann Arbor, focuses on helping clients solve environmental and commercial disputes and compliance issues. He is at the forefront of litigation related to per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), having successfully represented both suppliers and users of PFAS in some of the earliest cases in the State of Michigan involving these emerging contaminates. Stewart also has a strong track record of litigating class actions, product liability, antitrust, and trademark cases.

He earned a J.D., cum laude, from Wayne State University Law School and a B.A., with honors, from Michigan State University.

Other new partners include E. Carolina Rodriguez-Hatt – Real Estate; Detroit; Clay A. Cossé – Products Liability and Commercial Litigation; Dallas; Asel M. Lindsey – Tax; San Antonio; Milo R. Madole – Real Estate; Detroit; Igli Psari – Corporate and Finance; Bloomfield Hills; Ariel J. Snyder – Corporate and Finance; Dallas; Anda Tatoiu – Business Litigation; Chicago.
