Bar associations taking part in expungement webinar

The Detroit Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. Social Action Committee in partnership with the Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel, the D. Augustus Straker Bar Association, the Wolverine Bar Association, and the Black Women Lawyers Association of Michigan will present the “Virtual Expungement Forum III: Cleaning the Slate” webinar Saturday, March 18, from10 a.m. to noon via Zoom.

This webinar will look at Michigan’s automatic process to expunge certain criminal convictions without filing an application for expungement with a court. The program seeks to inform and prepare citizens to benefit from the state’s Moving Forward process if they are eligible for this method of erasing their criminal record.  Panelists speaking will include Sharon Whiteside, Kimberly Thompson, Wayne County 36th District Court Judge Tenisha R. Yancey, and Michael Ajami.
