Jury returns guilty verdicts on first degree double death homicide

On Wednesday, two men were found guilty on all counts in the murder of two women on January 22, 2021.

Dajuan Davenport and Darrell Banks shot and killed Dazhane Jasmine Holloway, 19 years old, and Dionna Janae Davis, 18 years old, both residents of Clinton Township. After the murders, both men fled in a vehicle, police attempted a traffic stop, and the two men fled at a high rate of speed.  After crashing their vehicle, police were able to arrest the two criminals. 

Police found the guns used in the crimes in the vehicle.

Davenport and Banks were both charged with two counts of murder in the first degree (life without parole), and two counts of felony firearm (2 year mandatory felony.)  Macomb County Assistant Prosecutors Tony Servitto and Jurij Fedorak conducted the six day jury trial in front of Macomb County Circuit Court Judge Julie Gatti with the jury returning with a guilty verdict on all charges.

Davenport and Banks will be sentenced on Wednesday, April 19, at 9 a.m.
