Court administrator featured at WBA Table for Eight event

The Women's Bar Association, Oakland County region of the Women Lawyers Association of Michigan, will host its annual Table for Eight dinner event featuring attorney Zenell B. Brown on Monday, April 3, beginning at 6 p.m. at Sedona Taphouse, 198 East Big Beaver Road in Troy.

Brown has worn many hats during her legal career. She began as a paralegal and currently serves as the Wayne County Circuit Court administrator. She has shared the lessons learned and best practices from this endeavor at local and national conferences for judges, court managers, lawyers, and paralegals. Brown is a current faculty member of the Institute of Court Management, the Michigan Judicial Institute, and the Michigan Women Lawyers’ Leadership Academy, focusing on the topics of strategic thinking and planning, leadership development, and diversity and inclusion.

During the pandemic, Brown authored and published “Coffee and Conversations: Inclusion and Belonging,” a 28-minute read encouraging the legal community to stir up good conversations and start creating inclusion where they are right now with what they have.

For her work in justice administration, diversity, and leadership, Brown has received numerous awards including the ABA Robert Yegge Award, the National Association for Court Management Linda Perkins Award, and the National Sojourner Truth Award from the National Association of Negro Business and Professional Women Inc. in 2021.

The WBA Table for Eight dinner event is open to the first eight members who register.

The ticket price of $50 includes dinner and one drink. To register, visit https://womenlawyers.org and click on events.
