Students from Cranbrook Schools presented a mock trial at the Oakland County Courthouse in Pontiac before Oakland County Probate Court Judge Kathleen Ryan (back row, center) and retired Judge Eugene A. Moore (back row, in glasses) on Thursday, March 16. This tradition of hosting a mock trial began years ago with Moore and Judge Nanci Grant. Moore still dons his judicial robe once a year, along with Ryan, to help make this event a success. Through this experience, students get the opportunity early in life to develop essential critical thinking skills in a formal courtroom setting, with the hope to inspire the next generation of legal counselors.
