The Oakland County Bar Association's Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee has teamed up with the Detroit Bar Association to present "Barriers on the Pathway to Success," a discussion on privilege, barriers, and opportunities for professional success. The program will take place Thursday, May 11, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Affirmation, 290 W. Nine Mile Rd. in Ferndale.
By recognizing underlying issues and different perspectives on barriers blocking affected groups, employers and attorneys can better understand what resources are needed to help their employees or their clients succeed.
Speaking at the program will be Oakland County Circuit Court Judge Kwamé L. Rowe, Maya Younis of Elizabeth Abdnour Law PLLC, Jason Turkish of Nyman Turkish PC, and Wayne County Circuit Court Administrator Zenell Brown who will moderate.
Cost for the program is $25 for OCBA members; $15 for OCBA DEI Committee members; $15 for OCBA new lawyers, paralegals, students, administrative assistants; $25 for DBA members with coupon code; and $45 for non-members.
