Shawn Fix, 40, of Belleville, pled guilty Wednesday to one count of Providing Material Support for a Terroristic Act, a 20-year felony, before Judge Charles Hamlyn of the 13th Circuit Court, Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel announced. Fix was facing an additional count, Felony Firearm, which has been dismissed, and his sentencing will take place after the trial of the other three defendants.

Fix is among four defendants charged in Antrim County for their alleged roles in the plot to kidnap and assassinate Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer. Accused of planning the attack and surveilling the governor’s personal cottage in Antrim County alongside Fix are Eric Molitor, Michael Null, and William Null. The three each face one count of Providing Material Support for a Terroristic Act and Felony Firearm. Their trial is scheduled to begin August 21.
