The American Bar Association Section of Taxation will present its 15th Annual U.S. and Latin America Tax Practice Trends Conference on June 14-16 at the Mandarin Oriental, Miami. The conference will focus on practical tax practice trends for multinational corporations and their international advisers, as well as provide insight into how government tax officials may view the international tax landscape considering important international developments that impact corporate taxpayers.
Panelists will include industry leaders and leading tax practitioners from the United States and Latin America. The conference will be supplemented by half-day workshops on Wednesday, June 14, featuring panels on wealth management and the digital economy.
The conference is co-sponsored by the ABA Section of Taxation, the International Bar Association Taxes Committee and the USA branch of the International Fiscal Association.
Judge Emin Toro of the United States Tax Court will be the luncheon keynote speaker on Friday, June 16. A former Covington & Burling partner and clerk to U.S. Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, Toro joined the tax court after U.S. Senate confirmation in 2019.
