U.S. Senator Debbie Stabenow on Wednesday introduced Brandy R. McMillion to the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee for a hearing considering her nomination to be U.S. District Court Judge for the Eastern District of Michigan. McMillion was nominated by President Biden on June 28.
In her introduction, Stabenow said, “I am so honored to be here today to introduce Brandy McMillion. She is an outstanding nominee, and I wholeheartedly support her nomination. I urge the Committee to vote yes.”
“Brandy McMillion is an accomplished legal professional – and I believe her qualifications and wide-ranging experience would serve our state and nation well on the federal bench. I’m proud to support her nomination as it moves through the Senate confirmation process,” said Senator Gary Peters.
McMillion has served as an assistant United States attorney in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Michigan since 2015. She has served as the chief of the office’s General Crimes Unit since 2022. Previously, McMillion was a senior litigation associate at Bryan Cave LLP from 2012 to 2015, an associate at Perkins Coie LLP from 2007 to 2012, and an
associate at Pepper Hamilton LLP from 2006 to 2007.
McMillion received her law degree from George Washington University Law School in 2006 and her B.S.E. and her M.S.E. from the University of Michigan in 2001 and 2002.
