The Criminal Defense Association of Michigan will present the webinar "Legal Writing For Trial Lawyers" on Thursday, August 17, from 11 a.m. to noon via Zoom. Michigan Appellate Assigned Counsel System (MAACS) Administrator Bradley R. Hall will lead the webinar.
Hall is a graduate of Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law where he gained experience working at the Southern Center for Human Rights, Cook County Public Defender Office, and Center on Wrongful Convictions.
After a clerkship with U.S. District Court Judge Nancy G. Edmunds, Eastern District of Michigan, Hall spent eight years as a staff attorney at the Federal Defender Office in Detroit, handling trials, appeals, and habeas corpus cases. A habeas expert, he wrote the Defender Habeas Book for several years, and published law review articles on criminal procedure, sentencing, and wrongful convictions.
As amicus counsel for the Criminal Defense Attorneys of Michigan, Hall has briefed and argued several cases in the Michigan Supreme Court and Michigan Court of Appeals, one of which was awarded a Distinguished Brief Award by Western Michigan University Cooley Law School. He is chair of the State Bar of Michigan's Appellate Practice Section.
