THE COUNSELOR'S CORNER: Compassionate care brings healing and peace

Kind and caring words heal people.

Warm attentiveness heals the heart.

Gentle kindness with another person magnifies God's Presence.

Tension results when love and kindness are absent.

Never treat another person with indifference. It robs them of feeling loved.

When kindness and attentiveness are delayed to a person who is sick, the chance of getting better is weakened.

A caring health care professional increases the potential for better health in soul and body.

It is better to say "You're welcome" when someone thanks you, rather than stating "No problem".

Prompt kind actions and words are very healing. Neglect and procrastination can block the healing process.

Love disarms the other person. Neglect weapons the other person.

Angry and critical people send out negative energy. Kind and affirming people send out positive energy.

Love toward another strengthens and consoles a person. Anger toward another weakens and hurts a person.

Negativity blocks internal peace. Positivity brings internal peace.

When a person experiences love and compassion, God becomes positively experienced.

Unity happens when compassion is present. Love brings unity and deepens our experience of God and Self.

It is not a good emotional investment to focus on how other people must change. But it is a great emotional and spiritual investment for me to become more loving and kinder towards everyone.

The best investment in life is to be loving, reflective and kind. It is where we discover and experience God. So simple, but we often minimize this experience or push this experience away by procrastination.

Freedom is the result of being loving. It is the result of being kind. It is the result of quiet reflection with God.

The biggest problems in life result when I stop being prayerful, reflective and loving.

Compassion is so important to have inner freedom and peace.
